“Be like a flower and turn your face to the sun”- Kahlil Gibran
I hope you are all enjoying the lovely spring weather. Spring is a time for growth and renewal. The word spring has many different definitions, many of which involve movement of some form. These are some examples I found from freedictionary.com:
- To move upward or forward in a single quick motion or a series of motions; leap
- To appear or come into being quickly
- To arise from a source; develop
- Elasticity; resilience, energetic bounce
- The act or an instance of jumping or leaping
- A small stream of water flowing naturally from the earth
In my previous newsletter, I wrote about Mindfulness, which simply put, is being fully present in our lives. Movement with attention and intention are a powerful combination of elements for personal growth and transformation, as well as for connection with others. Active listening, connecting to what is in our hearts, making space for silence, creating one sound, and noticing the rate and rhythm of our breath, all are steps for moving forward in whatever direction or desire you may have for your life. I have been excited to have the opportunity to continue to expand my musical professional endeavors and would like to share this information with you.
So go ahead; whether it is taking one step or a leap, turn your face towards the sun and experience joy in life. This is an open invitation to explore your creative self and make a move in this moment. Allow yourself to share the uniqueness of who you are with others.
Check out the opportunities to participate in celebrating your creativity and self-expression through upcoming gatherings, workshops and performances. No musical experience or knowledge is needed. Everyone is welcome!
